healthiest dog breeds that don t shed
hey guys, it's grisha stewart with bean andi'm making this video series on my youtube channel. this series is called "i've changedmy mind" and it's about the various things that i've changed my mind about over time.most of them will be dog training related, but there may be some other things as well.and the reason for that is that sometimes people think that [whistle for bean] our opinionsare set in stone, that it's very hard to change our minds. and it is. but hopefully if yousee where i've come from and what i know now, you may want to change your mind about somethings, too. or potentially change your mind about something else, knowing that it's possible.my first thing that i've changed my mind about is little dogs. i used to think that i wasmore of a "big dog" person. and the reason
for that is that i just liked the heft ofthe bigger dogs, but also kind of thinking in terms of the little dogs not being "doggy"enough. it turns out that they are very doggy. plenty of hunter and whatever else, all theproblems that big dogs have, little dogs can have, too. but they have these really goodbenefits. one is that you can scoop them up if you need to. you can take them places thatother big dogs can't necessarily go. and i usually (instead of scooping him up) willhave him jump up into my arms. i have a youtube video about that in this channel. here area couple tips for small dogs. one of them is in terms of picking them up that you teachthem to jump into your arms. the other is that your arms are your "safe space." so ifyour dog does jump up into your arms, or you
pick them up for some reason, that other peopleare not allowed to pet your dog. this is your dog's safe space - even your partner, anybodyelse, kids, this is like a crate, it's sacrosanct. nobody is allowed to enter it. that can preventany sort of aggression and help your dog feel more safe when picked up as well. anothersmall dog tip is that they really are in a bit more danger, so in terms of sociabilitywith other dogs, make sure to find dogs that are appropriate play mates and not rowdy labsthat are going to squish your dog. watch for that and know that sometimes they have toset boundaries and that's okay as long as it's a quick setting of that boundary andmoving on. that's your small dog tip and thanks for joining in on this channel and also thisseries, "i've changed my mind." talk to you
guys later! bye. *** thanks and i hope youliked it. if you did, please give it a thumbs up down below and also consider subscribingto my grisha stewart youtube channel. for more dog training tips you can explore thischannel or visit me at grishastewart.com. thanks guys!
