up, up, up. hi this is ty brown with dogbehavioronline.com.today we're talking about how to train your dog. the topic of today's discussion is easyto train dog breeds. now whenever you're looking for easy to train dog breeds, probably thefirst thing that you should do is break it down into certain categories. now when itcomes to dogs, there's several different categories of dogs that are recognized. we have the sportingbreed, the sporting group, we have the herding group, we have the hound group, the workinggroup, the terrier group, the toy group and the non-working group, and so there's severalgroups to choose from. now in each one of these groups you can find breeds that areeasy to train. there are a couple groups however, that lend themselves more to being easierto train, because of their history of working
right along side man, and so if you're lookingfor an easy to train breed, you might want to look just for the sporting group, or youmight also want to look at the herding group. some of the breeds that you might find inthe sporting group that are traditionally easy to train would be something like a labradorretriever, or even a golden retriever. these are dogs that for generations have been bredfor their intelligence and bred for their ability to work with man. these are dogs thatfor generations have worked right along side, and so now, today, they retain a lot of thosecharacteristics and are easy to train breeds. now out of the herding group, you're goingto find such breeds as the border collie, the german shepard, or even the collie. theseare breeds that are well noted for their incredible
intelligence and for their ability to workright along side man. for many generations they've been bred with these characteristicsin mind, and so today, that makes them some of the easiest to train breeds.
