dog breeds good with children

a small child rushed to the hospital. tonight a 5 year old boy is in critical condition after being attacked by the family dogs. jessica live now with the breaking story out of brooklyn. reporter: christine, that 5 year old boy was doing what

little boys do. we're told he was playing happily inside his home about out of the blue he was attacked by not one but two family dogs. hours later tonight he is still at the hospital. he is fighting for his life. yelling, screaming, crying.

reporter: terel williams says it was the worst chaos you could imagine. a 5 year old boy mauled by two family dogs. just unbearable. 5 years old. reporter: do you know the family?

i know the family. i know the mother, the father and they goat three kids. reporter: exclusive video shows them loading the child into an ambulance on a stretcher. the father collapses. the father got the dog about

a month ago. and it just -- it just -- it's just crazy. reporter: neighbors got emotional talking about little jeremiah who was left with severe injuries to his face. reporter: did the dog cause problems that you knew of?

i never saw the dog vicious or anything like that. reporter: authorities took the dogs, both pit bulls, away in crates. now waiting on jeremiah's condition. i'm just praying that he make it and he's still alive.

reporter: and back here live on riverdale avenue, police are skill guarding the home where neighbors say he lives with his mom, dad and two younger siblings. it's not clear who was inside the home with the little boy when he was attacked by the

dogs.
