if i had to do it manually. all right, let's get straight to it. okayinside the webinar, i'm going to share with you some overview so that you can understandhow this all works as well because it's crucial to understand how important keywords are.so i'm going to share with you right now and talk with you what the importance of keywordresearch is. so there's a few things that i just want to talk about. i: overview okay, let's put it down here. keyword researchis basically like searching for diamonds and as i was...i'm going to draw a little diagramdown here. it's actually, you're going to


drill down and drill down really deep to beable to find these diamonds and these diamonds are all located really, really deep in theground, in the compressed carbon area from what i understand. and it's really, if youwant to find the diamonds, you've got to dig down and pretty much find them in the raft. but once you found them, these diamonds arevery, very high value and they're worth quite a bit. and that same thing is true for keywordresearch. to find the right keyword, you really need to go down and dig down deep into itto be able to find that keyword which will give you the really, really powerful keywordto be able to help you determine if it's going to be something that will make money becauseultimately if you find the right keyword,


and you target right, you set it up all right,you're going to be able to get a lot of traffic from it, you''re going to have a lot of competitionand also make money. and, in order to do that, you need to go througha process of actually filtering through and understanding how these filters apply. it'sthe same thing. if you don't have the right drubit to be able to dig down to be able tofind diamonds and right systems in place to be able to do it then you're not going tobe finding these diamonds. and it's the same thing here. in order to be able to find theright keywords, you need to filter it through. and that's the importance of keyword research.and this is why i'm going to be sharing with you why you need to look at doing keywordresearch first because keyword research will


be your very, very crucial part of doing yourniche market selection. okay so that's the first part and you mightbe wondering, why do i need to do keyword research. well, the first thing is the reasonwhy you might want to do keyword research is because you're firstly setting up a newsite. setting up a new site can be as simple as just putting a brand new domain name outthere and just calling it mydomain.com but if you're targeting a very, very competitiveniche or you want to actually jump into a particular niche that potentially helps youmake money, you want to make sure you setup the right keyword terms. so if i'm going tojump into say, dog food, i want to be able to find out if the term dog food has goodtraffic and also has less competition and


potentially can make me money. so i want to find out if dogfood.com is availableand if that's not then what are the other potential keywords i can actually target into.so that's probably one reason why, the first reason why you want to do keyword research.the second reason is if you're currently having an existing site and you want to be able tooptimize this site, keyword research will definitely help you with that because optimizingfor seo which is search engine optimization, i'm going to abbreviate here today, is goingto be very, very crucial to be able to help you with the success. and if you're currently say, you got a websitethat's ranking okay in the search engines


but not being found on the first page of google,then keyword research will definitely help you with that because if you can target theright keywords, you can easily help yourself rank up to the top pages of google. and inmy circumstance, in my case i've been able to do some really simple seo for my previousbusiness which i had for dragonboating and i was ranked at number 1 for dragonboat paddles,dragonboat bags and all that and it wasn't that hard. i just followed some simple basicsteps to be able to get good seo for my site. now, the third and final reason why you mightwant to be doing keyword research is to be able to help you find those small, littleniches okay to find those niche websites and set them up and be able to determine whetheror not these websites are going to help you


make money. and if you currently do have websitesthat are currently in a particular niche, you might want to drill down even furtherto be able to find smaller niches within that where you can make additional income as well,too. so those are the three main reasons why ithink you probably might want to be able to do keyword research. now you might be thinkingokay, i understand that it's important to see what these things can do with keywordresearch but you get to understand that also too, what determines a good keyword. and i'mgoing through right now with you what is determining a good keyword because if you understand howkeyword research works, you can really, really dominate any particular niche to be able tofind. so i'm going to go through and give


you the reasons why or what determines a goodkeyword. so i'm just going to write up here, good keywords. keyword research - relevance and to determine a good keyword, there's afew very, very important things that you want to be able to look at. firstly, you want tochoose keywords that are firstly relevant. okay, relevant keywords are so, so crucial.there's no point doing keyword research that goes into a particular market, say for exampledogs and you just chose a keyword that's just for dogs but there's so many people searchingjust for dogs but there's nothing that's going to be targeted traffic. so what you want tobe able to find is relevant keyword that might


be targeted towards a relevant niche. and,what i mean by that is that instead of searching just for dogs, which is a very generic term,we want to be able to find keywords that are going to be relatively to particular marketsthat have not been dominated within dogs. say for example, dog food for puppies. thatmaybe a particular niche that hasn't been targeted and you maybe able to find puppydog food might be a niche that or keywords that would be untargeted and that's relevantto specifically that niche. so you want to be able to find out a good keyword that'srelevant. traffic the second thing that i say as well too, isthat you want to make sure that there's traffic


from those keywords. because when you do yourkeyword research, the last thing you want to do is to find a keyword that doesn't haveany traffic or has too much traffic. and i'll talk a little bit more about having too muchtraffic as well a little bit later but you want to find a keyword that has plenty oftraffic or reasonable amount of traffic. and if you have good traffic there, you can easilysetup the right systems and be able to setup the right websites to be able to capture thattraffic and then turn that traffic ultimately into money because ultimately that's whatwe want to do with keyword research. competition okay now what determines another thing that'sgood keyword is competition. okay, a lot of


people overlook this because if you have trafficand you have lots of traffic, it's more than likely that there is a lot of competitionalready because these two are tied into each other. if you have lots of traffic, and youmight be asking okay, are there a lot of people competing in this market? and if it is, yesthen it wouldn't be a market that you want to go into because you'll be fighting to tryto get the top ranking spot of google. so what you want to ideally find is a reasonablygood keyword with relatively good traffic and also too, with low competition. that'swhat you want to ultimately find - low competition. so that's another thing about having a goodkeyword. commerciality


the fourth thing i want to share with youas well, too is seeing if this keyword also has commercial value okay. and what i meanby commercial value is basically if you choose a good keyword and it ranks well and if youdecide to sell this keyword to someone else and you'll be able to sell it at a high valuebecause it's something that it's worth a lot to people then therefore it's a good, goodkeyword. the best scenario that you want to look intois when you're doing keyword research and you put into adwords. if in adwords, say forexample the google determines that this particular keyword is worth 5c per click. that's actuallyrelatively very, very low but if say for example google says that this particular keyword forexample, that keyword would be, is worth $2


per click then that's a relatively very, veryhigh keyword that you can actually rank for. and commercial value, that's important becausethis will also help you determine how much you can charge for advertising. and not onlythat, it tells you also too how much you can potentially make as well from the website. and inside market samurai and also the toolsthat i'll be sharing with you inside this webinar, i'll show you exactly how that allworks as well. so, that's the fourth thing. passion one last point i just want to note, this isusually not something that people talk about is you want to look at your passion. and,in the past i've chosen niches which i'm not


even passionate about because i just lookedbasically at the dollar value. and one thing i just want to let you know is that if you'redoing all that and you based that at the beginning, it's okay to do that for the time being butin the long term, when you're particularly focusing on trying to build up a website orbuild up a niche website, you want to be able to make sure that you're going to have passionto drive it all way through. and that's the thing. with outsourcing andwith teaching my virtual assistants, i've always asked them to choose a particular topicthat they're passionate about because at the end of the day, they're writing the content,they're looking at building the website, they want to know that they're going to be passionateto continue to build this website and that's


something that i would determine as a goodkeyword. and always it does come back down to that because it helps you grow your businessmuch faster and also grow your niche markets much faster. all right, so that's pretty much where keywordsare like and how important this is. and this is what i just want to run through with youtoday is just to be able to give you that understanding. ii: finding targeted traffic now, what i want to share with you next isthat we want to look at how to be able to find that targeted traffic and what you wantto look for is to be able to think of targeted


traffic as being. there's these three mainthings okay, i'm going to just write traffic up here. okay and what we're going to be lookingfor is we're going to jump in very, very sure into market samurai i'm going to show youbasically how to be able to find targeted traffic. but i just want to mention a fewthings before we do jump in so that way you can understand how this all works. becausewhen you're filtering for good keywords, you need to understand there are few pointershere to do it. first thing is that when you're looking forkeywords, you want to go through and find and filter through what are the positive keywords,okay. and, when you do that, it's...i'm going to give you an example right now. let's sayfor example i've gone through and found dog


food. and inside dog food, there's going tobe dog food for puppies, dog food for making money, dog food for etc. now, positive keywords,i usually refer to those monetary value. so if there's a positive keyword such as dogfood to make money or dog food for puppies or any of those then i consider those positivekeywords. then, the opposite of that is negative keyword.don't worry if you don't understand this for the moment because i will be showing you exactlyhow this all works inside market samurai very soon. i just want to give you an overviewand show you exactly what this means. now, negative keywords are words that youdon't want to have inside your keyword. and what that means is that you don't want tochoose words or have words such as free dog


food, or cheap dog food or any of those kindof things in there or dog food scams, etc. you want to try to keep away from those. that'swhere the filtering process comes into play for us to filter out main keywords. and then, the last thing i want to share withyou because we'll be talking about this and i'm referring to this as well, is the phrase-to-broadmatch ratio. i'll just write it down. if you're writing this down, that's great. just wantto let you know as well that i'm currently recording this webinar for you so you canalways come back and replay this as well. and it's important to understand the phrase-to-broadmatch ratio. i'll explain to you exactly what this means right now.


now what it means is that if you're searchingfor particularly key term or keyword on google, and your particular phrase right here is saydog food, and google comes up and it comes up with hundreds of sites that are relatingto dog food, you want to be able to find and make sure that this keyword is actually relatedto that site. and if you make sure that dog food is relating to this particular site thenthere's a high chance that it'll have a closer match which means phrase-to-broad match ratio. if you don't understand that, i'll explainto you a little bit later on inside market samurai but the most important thing is justto understand the higher the percentage, the better it is because it means that your searchwill match better to those keywords. so whenever


someone searches for dog food inside googleand they come to match exaclty the same keywords as dog food then there's a high chance thatthey'll see your site and also click through to buy or look at your website. so that'ssomething that's important and i thought i'll just run through that so that i can give youthese things. and these are going to be the three filteringmechanisms that you need to be aware of. all right, i think i've shared enough informationhere and hopefully you can understand where and how all these keywords come into playbecause this is the foundation of understanding how the keyword research works. what i'm goingto do right now for you is i'm going to jump into market samurai and i'm going to showyou how all this works. that way you can see


clear idea what it is. iii: inside market samurai okay, let's have a look at this. i've chosenand i've been talking a lot about dog food. what i'm going to do is i'm going to put ina new keyword called dog food. so i just clicked on that and i'm going to click update. now,if you have market samurai, you're most welcome to follow me through right now and i'm goingto run through with you to show you how this all works. market samurai's a really, reallygood piece of software because i found that it takes me hours of doing manual labor researchwhere i even get my virtual assistant and i've given this to her as well, too to doit and just follow step by step to implement.


you can do that with anyone or do it yourself. all right, so let's just jump into this. i'mgoing to actually go into looking at keyword research which is right over here on the leftfor keyword research. and, over here what market samurai can do for you is on the righthand, it says that you can generate all the keyword researches or keywords i should saythat's related to dog food. so if i click this, what will happen is that market samuraiwill jump straight to google and come up with the most or the closest words that are matchingup to dog food. and, this will take a bit of time because it does take some time tobe able to come up with searches to be able to match and match up with dog food.


so what i'm going to do is i'm going to presscancel right now and we'll jump into, i'll show you one that i've researched for. i justtyped in another niche market called senior dog food and i just want to show you rightnow what kind of keywords have come up because what i want to show you right now in thisnext part is what matches up. and if you remember, i was talking back here about positive keywordsand also negative keywords, and over here because i haven't generated very many keywordsfor it but basically, if say for example you've got a positive keyword that you want to keepin there such as dog or food, what will happen is that it will actually filter this throughfor you and that's same thing here that says negative keywords. if you type in say freeor cheap, or any of those and you click update,


it will remove them all for you. and that's basically one of the filteringprocess that you can easily apply straightaway to your filtering process here to be ableto find keywords and you may find that some of the keywords that you have here are goingto be words that you probably don't even know that even exist. so you can go through andjust read through all the list and usually it comes up with at least 20 to 30 results.all right, now once you've done that and clicked on generate keywords to find those results,you can click on analyze keywords and what will happen is that market samurai will gointo google and also go into the market and simply analyze these keywords and will comeback with whole list of results which you


can be able to use to determine whether ornot this market is a particular market that's going to work for you. and, at this pointin time what i'm trying to do is that i'm just trying to show you exactly what's happening.it seems that it's taking a bit of time to be able to load up but ultimately, what youwant to be able to come back with is the list of results on the right here and those resultswill tell you whether or not these are good keywords or not. so while we're waiting for that, probablyi'm just going to jump back to the presentation slide. i'm going to run through to see howthis all works as well. so i'll just pull out this. sorry for the jumping back and forthfor you. so basically what's happening is


that if you've been able to find the keywordswhich is coming up right now insde market samurai, and filter through those keywords,then basically i want to be able to share with you and show you exactly how this allworks because if you can rank yourself up onto the first page of google, then you cansee that there's potentially traffic which you can capture. and i just want to sharewith you where does this traffic come from. so i'm just going to go where traffic comesfrom and it's important for you to understand how it all works because if you can get yourselfup to the first page of google, you can imagine there's potentially a lot of traffic there.now, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're on the first page of google you're going toget all the traffic. usually what happens


is that on the first page of google, you doget 98% of the traffic, just first page not first ranking. and the rest of it is basically2%. so if you are ranked up on google on the first page, i'll show you right now. let'ssay for example i jump over to...say for example i did dog food search. right now, you seehere this is the first page of google and obviously all these sites that are over hereare basically ranked up on the first page of google. so that's the way 98% of where people justlook at and that's where the 98% of where the traffic goes to which is crucial to knowbecause what happens is that if you understand this, we can basically break it down. becausewhat happens is that if you're on the first


page of google, i'll draw a line here. ifyou're on the first page of google, this is just the fact that happens is that if you'rethe first ranking, first link on google, you get roughly about 42% of all the traffic,42%. so that's just below half. now if you ranked second on google, you get12% of the traffic which is a 30% difference. which that means that if you're first andsecond, it makes a huge difference to how much traffic you only get. now for third,you get roughly about 8% of the traffic, and if you're fourth, you get about 6%. so youcan see it just keeps going down and down and you get less and less. so it's very importantthat if you're going to be choosing keywords, you want to be able to rank on the first andsecond rankings of the first page of google


because that means that you'll be gettingmajority of traffic. and it's also possible to rank for both of these links as well byhaving 2 different sites but in the same niche that you own. and i've had that happened tome as well, too before. example was i had ecommerce site for dragonboatingand i was ranked first page of google. so i got 42% of the traffic and the second pageor second link was linked to my dragonboat blog which is a completely different websiteas well so i got the rest of the traffic that goes there. so that's how i easily dominatedthe first page for that particular niche and it's crucial to understand how important itis because this is where we need to make sure we determine the right keywords.


i'm going to just jump back in here as well.basically what i want to be able to show you right now is to go through the whole processof being able to find keywords. and depending on your internet connection speed, it willtake a bit of time to load. so what i'm going to do right now while i'm waiting for thisto all load, i just wanted to see and ask everyone, are there currently...is this allmaking sense at this point in time for you and if you have any questions about this beforei do move on because i'm going to jump into quite a lot of other parts as well, too whichis a little bit more advanced and strategic as well. the whole concept of this webinaris to provide for you a guide on how to be able to do some good keyword research usingthe tools that i provide as well.


i've got a question here about the phrase-to-broadmatch ratio. great question, let me explain that to you again. that's a really good questionbecause as i said i didn't explain it to you too well and i just want to be able to bringup market samurai to be able to show you that but i'll explain it to you here using google. basically on google, what happens is if youtype in say for example, senior dog food that's a little bit narrow. with senior dog food,what it does is that google will go through to take this keyword and see if it can finda very close match to the website and if they can find senior dog food inside the website,it will actually bring it onto the page of google. and obviously if you've got somethingthat's perfectly matched like senior dog food,


just those three words inside top headingof your listing or your website, then that should basically be a hundred percent broadmatch, exact match for those words. now if it's not an exact match, most likely say forexample pedigree has a name there and senior dog food and then really good dog for allthe dogs...this is not an exact broad match. basically what that means is that you willhave the words in there but you will also would have all of the other words that arein there and this maybe worth the percentage of say 80%. so that's what really phrase-to-broadmatch ratio really means. for the people who don't even a match for senior dog food, thenit'll not even be listed on this page and what that means is that say for example you'vegone through google and searched for it, they'll


probably have broad match of less than 10%and those are the ones that we want to filter out. those are the keywords that we don'twant to match out for. so that's basically what's phrase-to-broad match means. let's just jump back into market samurai.hopefully market samurai should be ready to go right now. it depends on how fast the connectionis for me. but dog food for example, it's still going. it's at 95%. basically dog foodfor me was a pretty generic niche so therefore there would probably be lots of results. thereyou go. okay the other thing as well, too i want tomention is because i've got a paid account and also i've got adwords account as wellwhich i've linked up to market samurai, i


can search up to 800 keywords. not just 200but 800 so that's why it took a little bit longer than i expected. okay now let's talk about it. this is a reallygood example amount of data that's right here and you'll notice that once i search for dogfood, dog food pretty much came up to anything that's related. and what i like about thisis market samurai also comes up with semantic keywords. things are related to dogs - dogssuch as puppy, canine, anything that's related to dogs will also come up as well and thatwill help you determine. now if you wanted to keep certain words, likesuch as dog then you can just update and then only filter through only things with dogs.okay that's what positive keyword does. now


if you don't want to keep anything relatedwith dog and you can search for everything but you want to remove cetain things suchas free as i mentioned and i don't want cats. as i noticed there's cats here, i don't wantcat food or anything related to not related to dog or even buff, that's the first oneright there. put them into negative keywords and what will happen is that market samuraiwill filter them through and determine the ones that are related to what i want. if iwant just dogs, in positive keywords just put in dogs. so that's the first process that you do insidemarket samurai or for anything you want to do just to find these keywords. now once you'vedone that, usually you'll click on the button


that says analyze keywords and what will happenis that market samurai will put all these keywords that you've just filtered through,that's the first step of the filtering process. and, as i've mentioned to you in the previouspart, you've got to filter those things through in order to be able to find them. it's likedigging for diamonds, if you don't filter through those layers, you'll not find thekind of keywords you want. so once we found that, basically you've gothere a whole list of keywords and these keywords have given you all these different resultson the right hand side here. i want to, i'll go through it in a little bit right now. justgive me basically what some of these things are. for example, seot stands for how muchsearch engine traffic you'll be getting directly


from the search engines if you're number oneon the website. let's say for example jump back over hereto my browser. if i was listed number one right here, i'll get roughly 835 potentialclicks through to my website if that was the case. so if i had best dog food and i'll ranknumber one there, i'll get 135 clicks per day. and as you can imagine this is a reallypowerful things to be able to note because potentially this is how much traffic you wantto be able to work out based on that how much you convert as well as it starts giving numbersand figures. now as i mentioned to you previously before,and i just showed you the example what is the phrase-to-broad match ratio, as i saidanything that's close to a high number or


close to matching exactly, it'd be a 100%but you'll be trying to eliminate any of the keywords that are less than 15%. so minimum15% would be the phrase-to-broad match ratio. you just remember that and have that in yoursearches that basically it should be able to filter out the good keywords. the other thing i just want to mention aswell since we've been talking about search engine traffic as well, we want to have aminimum of at least 80 searches per day. you don't want to find any particular niche withless than that because if you've got less than 80 you're not going to have much trafficcoming to your site or much keywords coming to your site so therefore minimum of at least80. and then what the next thing you want


to do is to find out the competition is becauseif you've got great traffic and you've got a very good phrase-to-broad match ratio, whichmeans that your keywords are matching exactly to what you're searching for, you want tofind out how much competition you have. what we're going to do right now is we'regoing to click analyze keywords which what will happen is that now market samurai willgo back over to google, and access that data and find out what the competition is and basicallywhat it does is that it will tell you roughly how much competition it is with those keywords.so i'll just jump over and i'll show you where exactly we're talking about. so say for example, senior dog food. basicallywhat will happen is that google, or market


samurai goes back to google to find out theresults there. and for senior dog food as a keyword, there's 7.1 million search resultsor search competing websites in the result and that's very, very high competition whichmeans like something like this would probably be a very competitive niche and that's notwhat we want. so i'm going to just jump back in there. so while we're waiting for that,let me just jump back into my slide. i'm going to talk to you a little bit moreabout competition because ultimately, if you understand how competition works and alsohow we can take advantage of this, you can actually dominate your niche. and in my situationwhen i was able to dominate dragonboat niche, i was able to just basically take out firstand second ranking across a lot of the terms


for dragonboating. the reason why was i didsome really simple keyword research through market samurai like this and i targeted rightterms. and because no one else was doing it, i was basically ranked at number one. so competition, let's have a look. this isvery, very important. on the first page of google, you only have the potential of 10spots, okay. and, there's only 1 in 10 chance to be able to get onto the first page of googlein order to capture some of that traffic. you'll have to understand that if there'sa lot of competition, it's going to be very hard to be able to rank in the top 10 spacesthere so you have to understand that's the competition that you'll be facing against.


and the thing is that you want to look at2 aspects. the first aspect is that you want to find out how much competition there is,okay. which is what we've just punched in market samurai, we're going to see that withdog coming up very soon. number two as well is what are their rankings. so as i said toyou inside the dog food does over 7 million competing websites just for dog food alone.now, if we want to actually compete agianst that, it'll be very hard to be able to geton the first page of google competing the top 10. now, if you were to find out thatall the websites that were located here on the top 10 had really, really poor rankingsay pr which is page rank for google's there are pr0, pr1, etc then there's a likely chancethat you'll be able to rank over here on google.


and this is why it's important to find outhow much competition there is which we can find out very soon, i'll show you in marketsamurai and also what are other competing websites ranking inside google and usuallymarket samurai will be able to tell you that. so let's jump back over market samurai. okaymarket samurai's still looking through the information, it's about 66% done. apologiesif it's taking so long because there's a lot of data for market samurai to get throughbut basically as i was saying, we want to find out how much competition there is. okay,and that column here tells us how much competing websites there are within say dog food. andif we can filter out through, when there's less than 30,000 competing websites whichis i've filtered up i've put up over here


then you should be able to find out exactlywhere it is. okay, excellent here we go. so i'm glad that's done. okay so this is calledthe search engine competition and it tells you exactly how much competition or roughlyhow much competition there is inside those websites going for those keyword terms. andwhat i usually recommend to people is to search for less than or equal to 30,000 competingwebsites. if you can get into those and be able to filter through and find those keywordsthat have less than 30,000 competing websites then you've got a good chance to rank at leaston the first page of google. so i've talked about three things: i've talkedabout search engine traffic, which is basically a minimum of 80 searches per day, phrase-to-broadmatch ratio, 15 as a minimum that's something


that i recommend, the higher the better, andsearch engine competition which is less than 30,000 competing websites. obviously the lessthat you have there, better it is for us in terms of ranking. all right and as i was sayinginside here, i'll just jump back over, i talked about how much competition there is in marketsamurai. the next thing you want to have a look at is the ranking. so we're looking at say these websites hereand you're competing for the term dog food, you want to see how much competition thereis and we've got here gold dog food and all those other stuff. i'm just going to scrolldown to have a look. there are a few different terms. i've done a little bit of researchprior to this as well and i came up with senior


dog food. senior dog food doesn't have verymuch competition and also too, has a lot of traffic that goes through it which i've donethere. and what you'll find is if i'll just click on senior dog food, i'll show you rightnow what the competing websites are. so if we jump over here on the left hand sideit says here seo competition, so basically what i've done just to summarize everythingis that i've gone through, had a look through dog food to find if there's any potentialkeywords and once i've done that in a bit of research i found that senior dog food wasa good key term, keyword that had least competition, good traffic coming through and also a closephrase-to-broad match ratio. and after i've done that, i run this little tool here thatsays seo competition which shows here what


are the top 10 competing websites in the unitedstates located right here. and don't worry if this grid is a little bitcomplicated to you, it's currently all numbers here but what i'm going to do is i'm goingto turn off the index count here because it seems to be confusing and also the domainage but you can leave those on if you want. basically what it is, is that this is whatwe call a little seo competition matrix and that gives you an idea on how much competitionthat we have. and the more green that we have in all these areas, the better it is for usbecause we can actually come up and rank higher on the google page. by seeing this, it shows that these are thetop 10 competing websites on google for the


first page for the term senior dog food. what'sbeautiful about market samurai is it tells you what the page rank is. for people whodon't know what page rank is, it's just a score that google determines to tell you howmuch your website's worth okay. and if your pr ranking is high, if it's close to 10 itmeans that you've got a lot of authority. anywhere between 4-5 that's reasonably okay.anything less than that, it means that you're not ranked very well inside google. and if i'm just having a look at this rightnow, there's the top 10 competing pages. and majority of them have between 0-3 page rankexcept for this first page which is srdogs.com. and this one's ranked for senior dog food.but the thing is that this particular website


doesn't have matching description for title,url, description head even though it's pr4. so i think in my opinion, just seeing allthese here, it's very easy to be able to compete and come into the market and bring up a websitefor senior dog food and put together a blog post and start to make money from that. but essentially, what you want to find outfrom h1, as i've mentioned what is h1's ranking right here as i've mentioned is seeing herefrom market samurai it tells you these ranking and obviously the lower the rankings, theless competition that you'll have and that's what you ultimately want. and if you keeprunning this search engine competition matrices, you'll be able to clearly see whether or notthis market is viable.


okay so that's pretty much competition, competitionis very, very important and i have it emphasized quite a bit. i've gone through quite a bitin detail about this but if you can beat your competition, it'll be very easy for you torank number one spot here on google. all right, now i'm going to move through, there's a fewother things i want to share with that's very, very important. iv: commercial value commercial value - i've talked about thatat the beginning how much is your keyword potentially worth. and this is important becausethis is the step about starting to make money with market samurai and also making moneywith for example your niche market. so let's


talk about a little bit more about the commercialvalue. commercial value is very important becauseit determines how much money you're actually going to make from this keyword! all rightand as it stands, i'm usually doing keyword research with passion to be able to make surethat i find keywords that have a high dollar value attached to them. so this is the thing.how do we determine what is the value of your keyword and there's usually two options youcan look for. okay, i'm just going to show you right now. the first option is to look at adwords. nowif you don't know what adwords is, it's basically an advertising venue for you to advertiseon google. if you haven't heard of google


adwords, just simply type in google adwordsin google and there's a whole description telling what google adwords does. basicallyin google adwords, in order for you to advertise on google, you're going to pay a certain amountfor each click. it's maybe as low as 5c per click which is what we call cost-per-click. if it's lower obviously then the value ofyour keyword isn't worth very much. but if there's a lot of competition and there's alot of people competing for it, you can get anywhere as high as $2, $3 per click for thevalue of your keyword. and, obviously if you've got something that's high like that, $2 perclick with not so much competition, and you own that keyword, or you can actually dominatethat keyword, you can actually sell it to


advertisers or to other people to charge atleast $2 per click depending on how much traffic you get in there. and that's a really powerfulmechanism to be able to make some additional revenue just from advertising alone. now the second thing i want to talk to youabout is determining how much you're going to really make at this particular keywordis looking at the traffic. so if you say for example you get 100 visitors per day, that'sclick-through okay these are actually click-through onto your website, you'll basically or basicallygetting $2 per click, you're making it roughly $200 per day just on autopilot just from havingthe right keyword research and ranking at the top of google.


so imagine the more traffic that you get,obviously the more money you're going to make and this is just the very basic concept becausethis is only one avenue of making money from a niche website. you can make it through sellingadvertising, you can make it from selling ebooks, you can setup your own back end campaigns.there's so many different ways but what i want to share with you is the value of howyou can workout how much your keywords worth because the importance of it is that we wantto make sure that we choose keywords that have good commercial value. now you might be wondering how do i determinethat or how do i find that quickly inside market samurai. market samurai has actuallyreally, really good tool to be able to show


you how to do that. so i'll just jump backinto dog food and you'll notice that when i did some keyword research on the right handside if you had noticed there are actually some dollar values and i'll show you rightnow. so let's have a look. you can see that golddog food for example right over here has a cost-per-click value of roughly $2.19 andas i was saying to you before, the higher the value, the better it is. and obviouslyit doesn't have much competition because it's less than 30,000, it's got 82% broad matchratio and also it's got more than 80 searches a day so this is potentially a good marketto jump into, okay. and also the dollar values are quite high so if you actually have a total167 traffic click visitors per day coming


to your site, you can potentially make $355per day just from people clicking through to your site if you rank number one on google.how does that sound? it's not bad to be able to do that, you knowthat could be easily paying for a whole month's worth of virtual assistant's wage if you wantedthat in one day. so this is the importance of actually having a good keyword chosen withgood high cpc or cost-per-click and these are simple things that do come up directlyfrom market samurai which it all just drawn and shown you right here. and this is justa little tab that you'll just switch on over here, it tells you how to do that. if youswitch that on, that will come up. now i just want to share with you as wellanother thing. you may have chosen another


niche that has a really high value, this one'sworth more than $2.25 in comparison to $2.13 and you think oh yeah, $2.25 would actuallybe a high cost-per-click value and that does sound good. but when you look at the searchengine traffic that you get which is 91, you actually might not get as much back in returnoverall. so potentially you only get $205 in comparison to $355. so it's not alwaysgoing to be a higher dollar amount. it's going to also combine the traffic and the dollaramount. and that's what i was talking about, the combination of both these two and howimportant it is to look at commercial value from that perspective. okay so i hope that explains how much thecommercial value's worth because it's crucial


to understand to determine if we can makemoney from these niches. now i'm going to go through a few other things as well, tooto be able to help you find potentially other deeper keywords what we call long tail keywordsbecause if you can also optimize or get your keywords optimized for the main keyword whichis say for example dog food, there's also a potential of what we call long tail keywords. v. long tail keywords and these long tail keywords are importantbecause these are the keywords that...you don't get much traffic for, but bring potentiallyyour rankings up. i'm just going to abbreviate keywords to k.w. now what do i mean by longtail keywords? let's have a look at this.


i'm just gong to draw a little diagram foryou. just imagine this is a little meteorite and meteorite has start as the main keyword.and our main keyword here we've chosen, say for example dog food. now, dog food itselfis your focus keyword, your main keyword that you're going to be using. say for example if you'll create a new domainname it's going to be called like www.dogfood.com but inside your website, you want to makesure that you also cover all the other keywords that are related to dog food as well, too.what we have here is say for example the meteor's flying in full speed to the left and it'sgrowing out and what we've looked at the long tail is these words or these keywords rightat the end here. i'll give you an example.


as i said senior dog food is potentially anotherkeyword that you can optimize for and these are keywords that people do search for butdoesn't get much traffic. you may optimize for as well too such as canine dog food. thosekind of keywords, hopefully you're getting exactly what i'm heading here. basically it'sanything that is typed in with longer keywords that are still optimizing for those dog foodmain keyword. and you want to have plenty of those located inside your blog or yourniche website because what happens is that the more you have there, the more you configurefor them or dominating them, there's a high chance that you'll be able to get people tolook and look into your dog food as well and help you rank up high in google. so that'sthe importance of long tail keywords.


and the great thing about market samurai isthat it also helps you to be able to find that. so if we just jump back over here, asi mentioned, if you look at these keywords list it gives you all the long tail keywordsas well, okay. all right so hopefully that's something that you need to take into accountbecause when you're looking at doing some research for keywords, long tail keywordsare so, so important as well. the other thing i want to mention as wellis derivative keywords and semantic keywords. i should have talked briefly about this. i'mjust going to go through and just explain to you what these are. it's important to understandhow this works because at the end of the day, these are terms that people don't always optimizefor or put on their website and overlook some


potential traffic there. let's have a look. derivative keywords are just basically dog food, for canines okay, or puppy dog food,etc. so anything that has dog food in it or dog in it, etc are derivative keywords. butwhat about the keywords that don't have dog food in it such as...okay so dog food forexample can also be related to puppy food or canine food. keywords that are not specificallysaying dog food but also are relating to dogs. dogs can be different breeds such as puppies,canines, poodles, etc. and those are the ones that we call semantic. these are very important as well because ifyou can make sure you cover those aspects of keywords then you've got a good chanceas well to rank up high on google. so that's


important. i just want to share with you aswell how i went about it because say for example in my own niche that i ranked up well fordragonboating was i did have dragonboating as my main niche and what happened was i'vebroken it down to dragonboat paddles, dragonboat paddle bags, dragonboat equipment, etc andi dominated all those just by using derivatives. but also too, dragonboats can also be referredto as canoe paddles as well, too. people just didn't know that you can also call it canoepaddles. or you can call it carbon fibre paddles as well. so there's lots of different opportunitiesyou can make and get good rankings and traffic as well and potentially make money as well.all right, let's have a look at market samurai


as well. as i said these are the things thatyou can actually rank for and if you want to just keep everything like puppies and caninesand all that and just remove all the non positive keywords and it'll show you puppy dog food,etc. so these are the things you can find inside market samurai and it's crucial tosee that it's possible to do that as well. all right, let's just jump back as well. vi: search engine optimization i'm going to talk a little bit more aboutsearch engine optimization because i think a lot of people understand how it all worksor don't even understand how it all works i should say which we call seo and it's powerfulto be able to understand that. if you can


just do simple things and apply this to yourwebsite or apply to your niche market, you can actually rank up on google very, veryquickly. and there's two parts to it. first part is on-site seo and the other oneis off-site, okay. so what do i mean by on-site? on-site are basically things you can see onyour website. so i'll just jump over here for example. let's have a look, market samurai,this is an example here. market samurai has laser-targeted high-traffic, these are titlesand these are words you can actually change on your website. things like that, puttinga text inside here, making sure that you have market samurai inside your webpage and justensuring that on your on-site you have all the right keywords there. so say for exampleit's a dog food, you want to make sure you


have dog food in the title, dog food insideyour page, dog food on your links, but just don't go crazy with it. you want to just ensurethat you do have all these things. and as i just mentioned url which is the firstthing you can do. so if you're going to setup a website, you want to be able to find a websiteor web domain name that has the word dog food in it. it might be www.dogfood.com. if it'staken, you might want to choose dogfoodhq.com or mydogfood.com, etc. so just ensure thatdog food is inside or your keyword inside your domain. second thing is your title, as i mentionedthere in market samurai, it's crucial to be able to have your keyword there. third thingis description. description is just as important,


you want to make sure that inside your descriptionyou have your keywords listed as well and make it as natural as possible. so if you'regoing to describe something about dog food in your website, this website has informationabout dog food and so forth, etc. but just don't keyword stuff it. make it natural aspossible. also your headers, so anything that startswith a topic. it might be like dog food for puppies would be a header, dog food for canineswould be another header. and then, sitemap. this is something that i think a lot of peopledon't realize the importance of it and it's something that you can easily do. if you simplysubmit your sitemap which you can automatically create within a blog, the blog will createit up for you automatically. and the tool


that does it even better for you which iscalled all-in-one seo is a plugin that allows you to be able to optimize your blog and youcan just install this. this is all for free as well. it allows you to also generate anautomatic sitemap, that sitemap you can submit directly to google. and make sure that if you're going to submitto google, you have google webmaster setup as well, too. because this is how i was ableto also rank my dragonboat website very highly because no one else was sending their sitemapdirectly to google themselves and i just did that. and i just submitted it, set it up tobe submitted daily and everytime google saw that, it also rank me up high. so that's alittle tip there for you to do. and just make


sure that you submit it to google webmasterregularly so that way they'll know that your website's getting updated. now, let's talk about the other things thatyou can't control but you can control on the outside of your website. things as your domainage, no one can control on that, you just have to let it lapse. you might be able tobuy a domain that's older like 10 years old or whatever to match your keyword and googledoes look at that. so that's a good point. your page rank, you can affect the page rankby obviously doing good seo on your website and these are off site factors which you can'tquite control all the time. you can do things to make it better for you. number of indexedpages as well, that's another thing you can


do with making your site rank better. andwhat that means is how many pages is ranked or sorry indexed inside google. say your blog has a hundred pages. if googlesees those hundred pages and there's great information and great content, should be ableto rank all of them. you should have hundred pages ranked inside google. and finally, backlinks.backlinks are basically anything related to people or links from other website linkingstraight back to your website. so if you have a hundred people creating a link on theirwebsite and linking back to your keyword website or your niche website then you have all thesebacklinks. and the more backlinks that you have, the better it is for your website andthe higher authority you'll get.


so it's very, very important to be able tounderstand that these things are important and you can also affect these really threethings, these things can easily be affected by all these stuff of seo. and it's importantbecause you can actually make it work for you by implementing some simple strategies.i'm going to show you actually right now inside market samurai. let's have a quick look backover here at senior dog food. inside senior dog food, you can actually havea look to see what your competition's doing and there's a little, little trick that peopleoverlook sometimes. these are all the competing websites for that term. if you click on thislink here, you'll be able to see right here, it's dropped down all the stuff. it's droppeddown and it tells you pr analysis which is


page rank analysis and it actually tells youwhere all the page rank information is coming from. it might take a bit of time to comeup particularly for this one but if they've got a higher page rank for their particularwebsite, what will happen is that it'll show you what are all the linking websites. herewe go, it's coming up now. it'll show you all the linking websites back to their website.and, if you can see what's happening to their websites and who's linking back to them, youcan actually approach these websites and say would you be interested in putting a linkon my website back to you and back to mine. if you might just contact this one right here,you might not be able to see it right now, but this first one that has page rank 6 hasactually a link back to that dog site there.


here you go, if you click on this and youcontact the owner of the website and say would you be interested in putting a link on yourwebsite that links back to my website? it can actually give your website a higher pagerank and that'll also create more juice to your website or more linkages. obviously,the more links you have the better but ideally, what you want to aim for is to avoid the pr0ones and just link back to pr6, 5, 4, 3, anything above that is excellent. also too, i'll just close this up. down here,it shows you other information about that competing website - google trends, whois information,quantcast and alexa ranking. these things are important to know as well that are justbasically stats but the most important as


i was saying is the pr analysis, finding outwhat your competitions are linked to. and you can potentially also go to those linkingwebsites to be able to find out and also get links directly from the competitors as well.all right, that's the first thing. second thing as well if you click on thispromotion, it says here find quality backlink opportunities. market samurai allows you tobe able to host to these places like these web 2.0, squidoo, hubpages, etc and if youcan just simply host to these simple websites which are high ranking, you can basicallybe able to generate a link back to your site. and more of these ones that you get, the betterit is for your website. the higher you'll be ranked on google as well, too.


so that's something that's part of marketsamurai and it's really powerful because you don't have to go out and search for all thosesites yourself. you know, market samurai has basically given it to you in a platter soit's really powerful and really good to have. now, i've talked about a lot pretty much allabout how google works, how to find keyword research, how to get backlinks, how to optimizeit and so forth. now i want to talk to you about how to make money because ultimatelyat the end of the day, you've done all that hardwork to put all these keywords togetherand i'm pretty sure that you want to start to put something together that will startmaking you money. vii: monetization


so let's talk a little bit more about monetizingyour site and i did talk about how much your site is worth or your keyword is worth basicallyby looking at the adwords and also how much each cost-per-click of your keyword wouldbe worth if you sell advertising. but i haven't talked about potentially what affiliate programsyou can actually promote in the back end or promote even on the front end of your site. so there are affilite programs which you canfind in the market and what i mean by an affiliate program is basically someone has a productthat's already out there and they're selling for say $100 and they're willing to offeryou 50% of the sale so if you sell their affiliate product, you get $50 back. and it's simplyas just having a link on your website and


people can click on that link and buying throughthat link. and by doing that, you'll make a commission out of it. so that's one method.the other method is advertising as i've mentioned previously, you can sell advertising spaceon your website, or you can track every single click that you get back from google and getpaid just from google adsense or adwords. so those are just two opportunities that youcan make money from your website. obviously there are a lot more technical anddetailed monetizing strategies which are great for back end. i just don't have time to gointo because this could be a whole webinar and if you're interested with me going throughthat, i can show that in another webinar but inside this particular webinar, i want tojust show you two main things that you can


focus right now. simple two things that youcan start making money from the keywords. and, the beauty about this is that marketsamurai even has a way to be able to make money as well by doing simple searches through.so it may not even take a bit of hard work for you. so for example if we're looking at a particularproduct inside dog food market, you can click on find products and what will happen is thatmarket samurai will go to all these different affiliate sites such as amazon, clickbank,commission junction, etc. and if you simply click on find products, market samurai willgo and find products that's relating to dog food. how good is that?
